Chart toppers Foster & Allen to stay close to home
THEY have topped the charts in Australia and New Zealand in the past and, while they will play in Tuam next month, Foster & Allen will never tour together ‘Down Under’ again.
Speaking to The Tuam Herald, both Mick Foster and Tony Allen say they are looking forward to their Tuam concert in The Ard Rí Hotel on Saturday April 24, but their days of touring down under “as a duo are over”, as Mick puts it succinctly.
“I could make a million excuses for not going, but we have toured there 20 times already. I am now 74 and, if we toured down under next year, I’d be 75 and I don’t need that kind of travelling to work at this stage in my life!”
Mick adds that, while they need the money, they don’t need it that badly to make such long trips to the Southern Hemisphere and he says touring is very different from going on a holiday.
