96-page magazine marks International Women's Day
IT HAS taken a long time for women to come into their own. This week, we make an effort on this front with the second edition of Women Who Dared 2, a magazine that profiles 53 local women — 46 of them still contributing to their communities and seven no longer with us but who, when alive, punched above their weight.
Eight creative women include Tuam playwright and actor Sarah-Jane Scott; Milltown musician (and now medical student) Aoife Blake; internationally acclaimed Galway novelist Patricia Forde; and artist and her budding artist daughter Katherine Halford Greene and Amii Andow Greene.
These are just some of the women saluted in Women Who Dared 2.
