Anne Mitchell steered Galway IFA through hard times
Galway IFA in good nick ahead of Menlough farmer’s departure
ANNE MITCHELL’S time as Galway IFA Chairperson is coming to an end and, to say the least, her four-year term has been eventful.
The first woman elected to the role when chosen by her peers on the night of February 12, 2018, she has been involved in protests that have taken her to Roscommon Town, Cork and Dublin.
She’s been at health and safety meetings and dealt with over 1,100 queries during her service. The second half of Anne’s term was served amid the Covid-19 pandemic, which brought its own unique set of challenges.
“I learned a lot on the back of Covid,” said Anne, a farmer in Menlough.
