Kilkerrin-Clonberne meet title holders Mourneabbey on Saturday

IT'S widely accepted that Saturday lunchtime's currentaccount.ie All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship final pairs the two best teams in Ireland.

If that wasn't enough to whet the appetite, there's plenty of previous involved with reigning champions Mourneabbey from Cork getting the better of Kilkerrin-Clonberne by a solitary point, scored with less than 20 seconds left on the countdown clock, in the last decider played in pre-Covid days back in November 2019.

Laura Fitzgerald was the game-breaker at Limerick's Gaelic Grounds on an evening when the Galway standard-bearers left everything on the field, but just couldn't buy a break after losing one of their leading lights in Nicola Ward to injury during the first half.

It will be the clubs' fourth meeting in the space of seven years, and so far the record reads three victories to nil in favour of the North Cork ladies - twice at the semi-final stage and once in that aforementioned final.
