Archbishop meets with Tuam Home survivors
TUAM'S new Archbishop Francis Duffy met two survivors of the Tuam Mother and Baby Home on Monday.
Archbishop Duffy told PJ Haverty and Walter Francis that he understood what the church had done, and that what happened to them and their mothers, along with so many others, should not have happened.
“He said he was sorry for what had been done to us. He was an absolute gentleman, a lovely man and very sincere,” said PJ Haverty, who met the Archbishop with Walter in his house behind the Cathedral of the Assumption in Tuam.
