Now Galway students must commute daily to Limerick
GALWAY isn’t the only city currently feeling the effects of a shortage of student accommodation. Colleges in Limerick also struggling to provide adequate rental solutions for their increased student population during the current housing crisis.
Some students are undertaking three- or four-hour commutes daily just to attend their lectures due to being unable to secure accommodation on or close to campus.
Local bus company Farrell’s of Athenry launched a pilot run on Monday on a Loughrea-Athenry-Gort-Limerick route to offer students a practical solution to their accommodation woes.
