Galway-Athlone greenway planning on track

A PLANNING application for the Galway to Athlone cycleway could be lodged early next year.

A preferred route from five possible options currently being considered is on track to be announced in October or November.

A new report on the latest feedback from the five route options is due to be published.

The report, seen by The Tuam Herald, reaffirms the huge support for the development across the county. It also highlights the importance of ongoing discussions with landowners and farmers and stresses that the co-operation of landowners and farmers is essential to delivering the 130km of greenway.
