McDaid scan reveals minor knee ligament damage

GALWAY defender Cillian McDaid is very unlikely to be fit for the start of the National Football League campaign next month after sustaining a knee injury in training.

A scan has revealed minor ligament damage and though reports suggest that the diagnosis is not as bad as was initially feared, the 23-year-old Monivea-Abbey clubman is still rated a major doubt to be back in time for the county's Division 1 opener away to Kerry on Saturday, May 15 — a fixture that will be televised live by eir Sport.
