Brave head shave raises €10k for cancer charity

A BELCLARE woman has raised over €10,000 for a local charity after shaving off her luscious locks as part of a birthday fundraiser.

Tracie Higgins, who turned 33 earlier this month, has been a driving force in organising an annual summer barbeque in aid of Tuam Cancer Care in recent years. The annual night of music and food at The Man of Aran pub High Street has raised over €100,000 for the charity since 2007. However, with all pubs closed due to the pandemic, Tracie decided to come up with another way of supporting the charity.
