No greenway licence for Tuam track pending latest rail review
HOPES of reinstating rail services between Tuam and Athenry received a boost this week with Irish Rail confirming they would not issue a licence for a greenway along the route of the track.
A presentation by senior executives from Irish Rail to Galway County Council on Monday included the commitment that the line would be protected pending the outcome of the government’s Strategic Rail Review that is due to commence later this year.
