Call to avoid A&E nightmare

DIRECTING patients from locations in East Galway such as Tuam, Mountbellew and even Turloughmore to Roscommon Hospital would not only save them hours of waiting but take considerable pressure off A & E departments in Galway and Ballinasloe.
Roscommon-Galway East TD Denis Naughten told The Tuam Herald that patients needing x-rays and minor injury treatment could be in and out of Roscommon in around an hour whereas they could have to wait very much longer at this county’s overcrowded and stretched A&E departments.
