Galway North second best in Ted Webb Cup decider
THE province's top U-16 footballers converged on the Connacht GAA Centre on Friday evening, and it was Mayo North-South who adapted best in the horrendous conditions and left with top honours on the back of a terrific performance against 13-man Galway North.
Played since 1976 in memory of Ted Webb, the former Ballyhaunis and Mayo footballer, this year's renewal included eight teams from all five Connacht counties. Galway was divided into three: City-West, North and for the first time, Blue. Full county teams of Roscommon, Sligo and Leitrim competed, while Mayo was again split into East-West and North-South combinations.
