Three weeks in Africa taught Nicola a lot

IF you happen to be strolling down Main Street in Nansana, Uganda, in the coming weeks or months and spot an Annaghdown GAA jersey don’t feel the need to head for Specsavers because, no, your eyes aren’t deceiving you, the maroon and white kits aren’t a figment of your imagination as a result of heat stroke.
Annaghdown’s new international following is all down to recently qualified teacher Nicola Comer who made the trip to the former British colony as part of a 40-strong volunteer group guided by Nurture Africa, an organisation whose aim is to provide access to healthcare, education, economic empowerment, and mainstream child rights and gender equality throughout its variety of projects.
