Axemen are off to Canada
FIVE members of the Tom O’ Hawks axe throwing club are off to Halifax, Nova Scotia, to compete in the Canadian Open early in March.
The group, Sean, Colm and Alan Boyle, Cathal Murphy and Martin Treacy have been practising in their base at Ballyglunin, Tuam for the event.
The new sport has increased in popularity due to exposure on ESPN, one the largest sporting networks in the world, and now TSN, the largest sports network in Canada.
The Irish group fly into Halifax on March 8th to take on the world’s best once again in order to win a bid for the World Championships.
