Review derails plans to reopen Tuam station restaurant
PLANS to reopen a popular Tuam restaurant have fallen flat after Irish Rail refused to offer a new lease on the Railway Station building that has housed the eatery for many years.
The Railway Kitchen closed earlier this year with the loss of four jobs. Hopes that it could be reopened as a social enterprise, run by the Western Traveller Intercultural Development (WTID) group, have been thwarted by the government’s rail review that has not yet commenced.
