Anger at 'fly-by' of Greenway
A TUAM councillor has accused Galway County Council of hypocrisy in its refusal to support a feasibility study into the development of a greenway in the town while carrying out a study for the disused Galway Airport site.
Independent Cllr Karey McHugh said the ‘blatant contradiction’ of the local authority supporting a feasibility study into the future use of the airport at Carnmore, yet its refusal to sanction a similar study on the disused railway line between Athenry and Tuam suggested the executive was ‘talking out of both sides of its mouth’.
