Late Dublin goal ends Galway’s ambitions

GALWAY’s hopes of a first Ladies National Football League final in three years ended in the final moments last Sunday as Nicole Owens struck Dublin's winning goal. The Tribeswomen were 2-7 to 1-8 up thanks to goals from Leanne Coen and Mairead Seoighe and stood firm against the wind before eventually being caught.
The talk beforehand was about a good start and being competitive and Stephen Glennon's charges answered those doubts. The Galway manager shuffled his deck, bringing Nicola Ward back to follow the movements of Dublin's lethal attacker Noelle Healy.
