THEY HAD to overcome adversity before achieving their objective, but Corofin stayed the course and ground out a famous win over Kildare’s Moorefield to book a return to Croke Park on St Patrick's Day.

Martin Farragher’s second minute dismissal was a major obstacle to reaching their second All-Ireland final in four seasons, but not a fatal one as Liam Silke’s match-winning goal decided matters in the 59th minute.
Corofin must now wait on the referee’s report before contesting the likely one-match suspension that will accompany Farragher’s straight red card, even if the inside-forward appeared hard done by following an innocuous clash with Moorefield full-back Liam Healy.
“It’s great to be back there," admitted a delighted Corofin manager Kevin O'Brien.
“Paddy’s Day is the ultimate in club football. We put an awful lot into it and it's so hard to get there. People say Corofin are so successful and they’re a big club, but this is only our third time being there so it’s not something that should be taken for granted when you get there. You have to work very, very hard."
