Corofin aim to set up Croker return
ALL-IRELAND club semi-finals have become a graveyard for favourites in recent seasons, but it's a tag Corofin will carry into Saturday afternoon's meeting with Kildare champions Moorefield in O'Connor Park, Tullamore (throw-in: 2pm).
Rated 1/3 with the odds compilers, Kevin O'Brien's side are tipped to set up a St Patrick's Day final date with Slaughtneil from Derry or Cork's Nemo Rangers but they'll be acutely aware that something approaching their best form will be required to see off a side that may lack a swathe of high-profile inter-county stars but are well-balanced and have shown their mettle more than once in tight, high-pressure finishes.
Dr Crokes had their measure at this stage of competition 12 months ago, but Corofin went away, licked their wounds and challenged themselves to go again. That they're back in the last four speaks volumes about the commitment and drive of all involved.
