Summer swimming memories start solo career for Tuam songwriter
MEMORIES of summers spent swimming in the River Clare are brought to musical life in the debut solo release from Tuam singer-songwriter Darragh O'Dea
Darragh is a former member of local band Strange Boats who played a number of festivals around Ireland before taking a hiatus.
Having returned to Tuam after 18 months living in the north of Thailand, Darragh was keen to get back to songwriting and has started work on a solo career.
Ballygaddy Bridge, his first solo single, has already received airplay on RTE Radio 1 and is described as a 'bewitching reverie' about childhood and Tuam's favourite swimming hole where generations of locals spent their summers.
Darragh is recording his first solo album in Tuam's Sun Street Studios and the single can be listened to on Soundcloud.
