Grocers’ group wants Tuam Lidl expansion turned down
THE group representing independent grocery shops is objecting to Lidl’s expansion plans in Tuam.
Lidl has about 150 stores in Ireland and says a larger store on the town's outskirts is required to meet the growth in demand from the area.
However, RGDATA is calling on Galway Co Council to refuse the development which would see the existing supermarket knocked and replaced with a larger one.
