IDA has no development plans for Tuam
THE IDA has confirmed that it has no immediate plans to provide an advance factory or turn-key facility on either of its two land banks in Tuam.
Planning permission for two separate buildings on the IDA site on the Dunmore Road ran out in 2009 without any construction work taking place.
A local councillor says that, given Galway's worsening congestion, the IDA should seriously consider offering relocation packages to some of the companies operating from areas such as Parkmore and Ballybrit to move to regional towns such as Tuam, Athenry and Oranmore where the IDA has considerable vacant lands.
