Galway traffic making it a ‘no-go’ destination
GALWAY'S chronic congestion is gaining the city a reputation for being a traffic nightmare and a destination best avoided.
That's the view of Independent Galway West TD Noel Grealish who says the new motorway has benefitted some journeys but the commuting bottlenecks entering the city remain, and are getting worse.
Deputy Grealish says any city bypass or ring road is many years away and it's imperative that the city and county local authorities work together on a more short term measure or else put Galway's attractiveness as a place to work and shop in jeopardy.
