North Galway appeal helps train new farmers in Uganda

Machinery, tools and agricultural equipment donated by the farming community in North Galway will help train young people in a new college in Uganda.
Two local people organising the collection of goods were pleasantly surprised to the response – even to their call for tractors, as three have already been offered.
Vincent Flynn, a teacher in Mountbellew Agricultural College, said two 20 ft containers full of goods donated from all corners of Ireland would be shipped to North West Uganda at the beginning of October.
A call circulated to farmers nationally has already resulted in three offers of a tractor, one in Macroom and one in Kerry.
