Good and bad news for Dunmore on town enhancement front
THE traffic bottleneck which is Bridge Street, Dunmore is to be tackled by introducing a new stop-go system controlled by traffic lights at either end.
Dunmore has been plagued by traffic congestion for many years, so much so that during the Celtic Tiger era it was even mooted that the town might be bypassed.
The lights will provide for alternating one-way traffic through Bridge Street and over the bridge.
There was further good news at the July meeting of Tuam Municipal District Council where members were informed by Co Council officials that funding for further town enhancement works is being processed.
