Galway succumb to Ros ambush

THERE were no excuses offered by the Galway camp after Sunday's demoralising Connacht final loss to Roscommon, and despite the short time frame when speaking afterwards, there was a very clear and immediate realisation of where it all went so horribly wrong.
“It's very disappointing to be honest,†Galway manager Kevin Walsh began. “We were not winning enough ball around the middle area. We were dominated completely out there and we wouldn't have been expecting that. In fairness to Roscommon they brought everything they had to the table and our boys didn't.â€
That crucial inability to match the levels of intensity that Roscommon brought, especially in the first half, ultimately proved Galway's undoing and Walsh was well aware that although Michael Daly's first half shot that came back off the post was a big moment, it could not mask deficiencies elsewhere in their performance.
