Tuam woman’s memory honoured in round Ireland voyage
TWO North Galway men have sailed around Ireland in memory of a young Tuam lady who passed away last year from cystic fibrosis.
Mossie Reilly from Tuam and Paddy Shryne from Caherhugh, Belclare, undertook the voyage in memory of Eva Davin, originally from Dublin Road, Tuam, who lost her battle with CF last July.
Speaking to The Tuam Herald, Mossie, son of former mayor Tom Reilly, said the adventure had been a fitting tribute to Eva.
“We’ve been friends since we were kids and there’s a gang of us that have always remained close down through the years,” he said.
“We all struggled to cope with Eva’s death but we knew we wanted to do something in her memory that would help others with CF so we decided to do the sail around Ireland in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis Galway Hospital Project.”
