New school delight!
THE NEW school building given the go-ahead this week for St Oliver’s Special School in Tuam will completely transform the daily lives of both pupils and staff.
The school caters for children with moderate or severe learning difficulties and is run under the auspices of Ability West.
Demand has increased so much in recent years that there’s a waiting list for a place at the school which is currently at capacity at its existing home in The Glebe in Tuam.
A campaign started nearly a decade ago for a new building and last week Galway County Council granted planning permission for a six-classroom school on a greenfield site.
