New Year far from home on the Golan Heights

NEW YEAR was celebrated far from home by three Tuam men who are serving with the United Nations forces on the Golan Heights.
They are Sergeant Damian Sheridan from Woodfield, Galway Road, Company Sergeant Seamus Gannon, Galway Road, and Sergeant John Ainsworth, Dublin Road and now living in Galway.
They were presented with the Bonn Comórtha Céad Bliain 1916 (Centenary Commemorative Medal) on December 28.
