Last minute talks were good news for tenants
Worried Tuam tenants living in a voluntary social housing scheme at Racecourse Road who feared they would have to pay up to €38 extra out of their own pockets every year are relieved that an impasse between Galway Co Council and Tuam Voluntary Housing Association, regarding the non payment of a funding subsidy, has been resolved.
The fears of almost 60 tenants were allayed after Minister Sean Canney and Cllr Billy Connelly met with Co Council Director of Housing Michael Owens and two members of the Tuam Voluntary Housing Committee last Thursday.
