Final step between Annaghdown ladies and All-Ireland glory
ANNAGHDOWN has produced some great footballers and even better teams down through the years but for the first time in the club’s rich history it will contest an All-Ireland final when their ladies footballers take on Shane O’Neill’s from Armagh on Sunday.
Throw-in for the Intermediate Club final at Parnell Park is 1 pm, a match that precedes the senior decider between holders Donaghmoyne from Monaghan and Dublin side Foxrock-Cabinteely (2.45 pm).
Under the guidance of manager Tom Murphy and his backroom of Richard McNicholas, Claire Burke and Fiona Wynne, Annaghdown have built quite a head of steam since their campaign began in early July and it’s a journey that’s captured the imagination of the entire parish.
