The Catchment Flood Risk Assessment and Management (CFRAM) draft report was delivered to members of Galway County Council on Monday, but drew strong criticism from a Tuam councillor who walked out of the meeting in protest.
The report identified 15 towns throughout the county, including Galway city, where each was determined for risk level and an estimate of the cost of damage if flooding was to occur. Corofin was deemed to have three properties at risk, but no viable measures have been identified to prevent potential flood damage estimated at €360,310.
