Tuam priest to be ordained a Bishop in September

WELL-known Tuam priest Father Fintan Monahan will be ordained as the new Bishop of Killaloe in a ceremony in Ennis Cathedral on September 25.
The popular priest has been inundated with best wishes and congratulatory messages from throughout the Archdiocese since the announcement of his appointment was made by the Vatican on Friday morning.
Fr Fintan, who was appointed by Pope Francis, says he is still very much in “a state of shock”.
