Meet Babe, the pet pig that thinks he's a dog
NO, your eyes are not deceiving you if you’ve spotted what you thought was a small pig walking on a lead in the Tuam area in recent weeks.
Babe, a nine-month-old micro pig, who seems to think he is a dog, is at his happiest hanging out with his best buddy Ze Ze, a King Charles Spaniel.
The animals belong to Deirdre O’Donnell and her partner Kevin, who live on Firdomnach Road in the New Glebe off Purcell-Stockwell Road.
The couple have added to their animal brood in recent weeks with the arrival of Sean, a Maltipoo puppy who is the youngest of the clan at only 12 weeks. A kitten called Pebbles also resides in the house, with all four animals blending well amongst their own little motley crew.
But it is Babe who is attracting all the attention as he takes to the streets on a joint lead with Ze Ze, happy to pose and be petted by fascinated people who Deirdre says do a double take when they see him coming.
