Westmeath down, next stop Offaly
Fergal Moore was signing autographs on the pitch at TEG Cusack Park and posing for photographs with young Galway supporters after Sunday’s win when he was informed that Offaly had hammered Laois elsewhere.
Just moments after clearing one hurdle in the Leinster championship, the next suddenly came into view for the ultra-experienced defender and former captain.
It’s a semi-final tie Galway will be expected to win comfortably and one statistic springs to mind — Westmeath, who Galway beat by 17 points, hammered Offaly by 14 points in the qualifier series of games just last month.
Presumably then we can expect a 31-point Galway win on Sunday week?
