Meehan and Nolan goals crown Caltra's second half dominance
THESE are exciting times for all involved in Caltra GAA. On Saturday evening An Ghaeltacht from Kerry, their All-Ireland final opponents in 2004, will be the club’s special guests, while GAA President Aogán ” Fearghail will arrive on Sunday to officially open their new €1.7 million development prior to a challenge match between Galway and Cork.
Last Sunday evening at Tuam Stadium, the club’s seniors got their Championship campaign off to flyer as a power-packed second half performance saw them accelerate clear of a depleted Annaghdown side.
Trailing by three points early in the second half, Caltra turned on the afterburners with goals coming from Michael Meehan and Stephen Nolan as they wiped out the deficit and ran out comprehensive nine-point winners.
