REPLAYS so often veer off on a completely different course fom drawn encounters and although last Friday evening’s Connacht Minor Football Championship final replay held many similar traits to what unfolded in Roscommon, there was one notable, decisive exception: Galway’s finishing.
They enjoyed the lion’s share of possession — just as they did in Hyde Park. They also coughed up a cheap goal — just as they did in Dr Hyde Park. The crucial difference this time around, however, was that the young Tribesmen were clinical with most of their scoring chances and with that, claimed the Kilcoyne Cup in style.
