Galway shoot the lights out in demolition of cork

Galway 2-28
Cork 0-22
GALWAY’S challenge for hurling glory and a place at hurling’s top table stepped up a gear at Semple Stadium, Thurles last Sunday when they turned in their best display of the season so far in crushing Cork in emphatic fashion.
In doing so they put an end to their recent spell of poor displays at the venue and if they can repeat this form against Tipperary in the All-Ireland semi-final on August 16 they must be in with an outstanding chance of edging closer to ending their championship famine. Incredibly, this was their first championship quarter-final win for ten years.
