GALWAY singer Mike Denver is so associated with dancing and fast paced songs such as The Day of My Return, The Galway Girl, Tommy K or Beautiful Sunday that it will be a big change of style for him when his new single hits the shops this week. It is a laid-back, almost acoustic version of the Phil Coulter composition Scorn not his Simplicity.
“We decided to do this with just a piano, a string section and acoustic guitars and the recording is being released in response to the phenomenal reaction that we have got for it during our current concert tour,” says Mike.
Phenomenal is a good word to describe Mike Denver’s current concert tour which has seen the biggest crowds ever in his six years of doing concerts. His concerts will culminate next Tuesday March 31 when he will be backed by a 15-piece band at a show being filmed in Castlebar’s Royal Theatre
