Osullivan brace sees rebels over the line in salthill

GALWAY hurlers went down to a second Allianz League Division 1A defeat at Pearse Stadium last Sunday, but they still went through to the competition quarter-finals. A brace of goals for visitors Cork was the difference between two evenly matched sides with a late disallowed one depriving Galway of a draw.
When Jason Flynn netted for the home side with seconds left, after Joe Canning’s free was stopped, it looked as if a jubilant Galway might have got a dramatic equaliser. However, Tipperary referee Fergal Horgan and his umpires ruled it out, possibly because the scorer was inside the square when he gained possession.
It was a disappointing conclusion to a game where Cork looked the sharper team early on.
