Families flock home with christmas commute in full swing
SANTA hats and smiling faces greeted hundreds of people arriving in to Ireland West Airport Knock over the weekend as families throughout the North Galway region welcomed their loved ones home for Christmas.
Over 30,000 passengers are expected to travel through the airport by Christmas Eve, making it the busiest festive period in the airport’s 28-year history. Among the arrivals last Sunday were Tuam native
Nichola Stallwood (nee Biggins) who brought her nine-week-old daughter Seren home for her first Christmas. Nicola’s proud parents Mary and Frank from Fairgreen Heights, Tuam, were waiting in the arrivals hall along with a host of other excited people delighted to have their loved ones home for a few days.
“They’re coming for about ten days so it will be great to have the family together for Seren’s first Christmas,” said Frank.
