Shane walsh joins allstars tour in boston this weekend
THE rising star of Galway football, Shane Walsh, flies out to the USA tomorrow (Thursday) to play in the GAA / GPA All-Stars exhibition match on Saturday, at the Irish Cultural Centre in Boston.
Shane, from Gurranebawn, Lavally, Tuam and a member of the Kilkerrin-Clonberne club, joins the 2014 and 2013 All-Stars who will play each other in the centrepiece of the day’s activities, along with games between Boston and New York adult players and Boston U-12s vs New York Shannon Gaels U-12s, and training sessions involving other young Americans and the visiting Irish All-Stars.
Shane Walsh, a nominee for the All-Stars’ 2014 Young Player of the Year, gets a wing-forward place for the main event as Paul Flynn of Dublin was chosen on the 2014 and 2013 All-Star teams.
All involved with the GAA in Boston and throughout the state of Massachusetts are looking forward eagerly to the big weekend, and the large Galway presence in the city will be thrilled that their native county will be represented by such an exciting young player as Shane Walsh, who celebrated his 21st birthday in June of this year.
