Mountbellewmoylough are a major new force in minor football

MINOR Championship silverware has eluded some fine Mountbellew-Moylough teams in recent years, with some tough defeats into the bargain, but the class of 2014 weren’t to be denied as they powered to the North Board A title at Tuam Stadium on Saturday evening with a comprehensive win over Corofin.
It was Mountbellew-Moylough’s third successive appearance in the North Board decider. Two years ago, Corofin edged a replay after a thrilling drawn match between the clubs and they came up short against Claregalway 12 months ago, an evening they played nowhere near their potential.
This time around however, there was a different outcome and for the small core of survivors still on board from those defeats, it must have been a particularly satisfying win.
