Killererin historians to investigate possible childrens burial site

THE possibility of there being a children’s burial ground in the vicinity of Barnaderg Castle is to be explored, following an event in the village earlier this month.
The Hedge School event was organised by Killererin Heritage Society in the grounds of the castle where a number of local experts shared their knowledge of the history of the area.
Field monument advisor with Galway County Council Christy Cunniffe led the tour of the castle and surrounding lands, where evidence of 15th-century living can be found through work carried out on the castle at various periods down through the centuries.
