AT TUAM STADIUM
THIS was a good advert for Junior football and any neutrals staying on to watch it after the double-bill of Intermediate semi-finals earlier in the afternoon will have enjoyed this keenly fought North G.P.C. Championship final at Tuam Stadium last Sunday evening.
In the end, a more experienced and physically stronger Annaghdown held on for a victory by the narrowest of margins but only just as Tuam, with a very young team, went all out for an equalising score and went close to getting it on a couple of occasions in an exciting final few minutes.
After losing many of last year’s side to their senior outfit this year, the Stars were forced to blood several youthful players but they stood up well to the test and showed what they have to offer for the future.
