THE EIGHT teams remaining in the Galway Senior Football Championship are all in action this weekend when two venues host the quarter-finals: Corofin on Saturday (one game) and Tuam Stadium on Saturday and Sunday.
In the first of the quarter-finals, Barna will play Caherlistrane at Dr Duggan Park, Corofin at 3.15 followed by the Intermediate Football Championship replay, Monivea-Abbey vs Spiddal, at 5.00 o’clock.
Tuam Stadium has a big double-bill on Saturday: Annaghdown vs St Michael’s at 4.15, followed by Milltown vs Salthill-Knocknacarra at 6.00 o’clock.
That leaves one SFC quarter-final to be played on Sunday: Corofin, the Frank Fox Cup champions, vs Mountbellew-Moylough at Tuam Stadium, at 1.45 p.m., after the senior relegation series clash between Kilkerrin-Clonberne and Killererin at 12.00 noon.
Corofin are in form ahead of playing the club they defeated, in a replay, in the 2009 County final, Mountbellew-Moylough.
