North Galway town takes stand against election posters
WHILE election candidates are fighting over every ESB and phone poll lining a busy roadway to display their ever-smiling happy faces, one of Co Galway’s tidiest villages is set to turn those smiles upside down.
Milltown’s Tidy Town committee has announced this week that it simply won’t be tolerating the picturesque village being wallpapered with election posters. It has warned candidates that posters erected within the 50 km speed limit signs either end of the village will be removed.
Now, how’s that for local action!
