Barnaderg gears up for large turnout at Post Office meeting
BARNADERG is gearing up for a large turnout at next week’s public meeting on the future of postal services in the village.
Both Minister for Communications Pat Rabbitte and An Post CEO Donal Connell have acknowledged invitations to attend the community centre next Wednesday evening and are due to confirm by the end of this week whether or not they will be at the meeting.
Brian McGann, General Secretary, and Padraig McNamara of the Postmasters Union will be in Barnaderg to hear from the local action group who are fighting the proposed closure of the post office.
All candidates in the forthcoming local and European elections are also urged to attend the event, which comes three months after the closing date of a submission process launched by An Post last February.
