Hometown star home for christmas
WITH a number one by his Pop group Hometown under his belt, Tuam teenager Brendan Murray will be back in his hometown of Tuam on Christmas Eve and for Christmas Day with his family before rushing back to Dublin the next day to star with the rest of the band in the pantomime Aladdin at the Olympia Theatre.
Last week the debut single by the boys in Hometown titled Where I Belong beat off all international competition to go to number one in the Irish charts and like two other Tuam acts in the past, The Johnny Flynn Band with Black and Tan Gun, and The Sawdoctors with I Useta Lover, young Brendan (17) has also made the top of the hit parade with a single.
Brendan is a past pupil at St Jarlath’s College and he is from a musical family as several of his siblings sing and play instruments while their parents Frank, a native of Cavan, and Julianne, who comes from Ballyheigue in Kerry, are both very musical.
